Vintage Shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market Bangkok - Day 8 (Video #25)

Our second visit to Chatuchak Market (because who can go only once?) we barely left the vintage section after discovering it late the day before – we promised ourselves to go back first thing in the morning when we were less tired. It did NOT disappoint.

If you are travelling please use our Airbnb and Uber codes, we don’t make any money from these videos and a tiny credit would really help our future travel plans…not to mention you get a discount too!

I found vintage high waist Levis shorts for 180baht ($8NZD, $5.50USD) and a couple of genuine American t-shirts. Jal found some potentially very real Rick Owens Dunks and a ridiculous stack of high quality Uniqlo linen shirts, of which he only bought three for space-saving reasons.
Other things of note were about a million pairs of real Birkenstocks and Doc Martens, some very authentic-looking if not the real deal Kimonos and robes, flapper-era sequinned dresses and costuming, and basketball tanks.

Thanks so much for checking our channel out. We have about 30-40 videos to edit and release over the next few months so stay tuned! All about Bangkok, where to go and what we did.

Using black casting resin, I replicated a vintage knob to replace a missing one for a recent gadget purchase. And while I was at it, I made a mold of some other antique knobs for future projects.

Making: TLF Christmas Ornaments

I prefer to give handmade gifts. I don’t always have the opportunity, but I still like to give something from my hands. This year I made some TLF ornaments for my family members that share those letters as their initials. I hope you enjoy.

Melting tin on my stove top

Melting tin on my stove top

Check out my new video where I melt the Tin on a wood burning stove!

Tin is one of my favorite metals, I figured I ought to talk about it today and melt some on my stove.

Tin is a post-transition metal atomic number 50.
Tin is mostly used in the modern world for solders. you can find old antique pewter mugs at thrift stores which usually contain 85% to 95% Tin.
It’s very soft and very bendy and has a lovely white colour.

Utkur Kadirov Introduction to Uzbek ornaments Chapter 7

Utkur Kadirov Introduction to Uzbek ornaments Chapter 7

Views:0|Rating:0.00|View Time:3:18Minutes|Likes:0|Dislikes:0
Chapter 7: Rez (tremolo). Often played on doira (Uzbek tambourine) by quickly shaking it to produce a trembling effect. On gijjak rez is played on the top section of the bow, similar to tremolo on strings. It is commonly used for accompanying purposes. Uzbek tune Muxammasi Bayot is played to demonstrate this ornament. Rez is mostly used for improvised introduction before the main tune. On the video the student is holding the tremolo while maestro Utkir Kadirov is improvising the introduction to the tune. After a lengthy introduction the main tune starts with usul (rhythmic ostinato on percussions).

In these short videos Utkir Kadirov and his student demonstrated the main types of ornaments that are commonly used in Uzbek music. However, the interpretation of them can slightly change according to the tune, the instrument, and performer’s taste. While they structure the main types of ornamentation, there are many different variations of them that are difficult to fix by using a modern system of notation.
